• Contribution to TV Nova and understanding of the television production environment.
The admissions process for the programme consists of two rounds, both of which are eliminatory. Applicants are assessed based on predefined criteria, and the assessment is carried out by an admissions committee composed of representatives from FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), TV Nova and CME.
The applicant must submit three mandatory components:
1. Analysis of television content – the applicant may choose to submit either an analysis of a current television series or an analysis of a licensed R&E (Reality & Entertainment) format of their own choice.
2. Proposal of an Individual Project – the applicant chooses either a project in the area of Fiction/Documentary or a project in the area of R&E (the assignment for both project options is provided in the application form).
3. Applicant’s work portfolio – selection of works demonstrating previous creative activity (scripts, videos, projects, etc.)
Applicants who achieve the required score in round 1 will advance to round 2.
In the second round, they will complete the following:
1. Creative task: Photo collage – the applicant must submit a collage of any nine photographs of own choice forming a narrative whole that captures the progression of emotions.
2. Oral interview before the committee – the interview will focus on the following areas: • reflection on the submitted works from round 1
• motivation for studying
• medium-term professional and creative goals
• contribution to TV Nova and understanding of the television production environment
- Assessment criteria focus on originality, conceptual thinking, understanding of the television environment and the ability to articulate a creative vision.
