I’m inspired by the Czech new wave. Czech Republic is popular location for film creators, says a CME CA student Nikita

Nikita Rybkin's journey begins in the quaint Russian town of Kaltan, where his love for crafting short stories blossomed at a young age. Despite initially pursuing a career in law, his heart remained steadfastly committed to creativity, with his leisure time devoted to nurturing his artistic inclinations.

"I hailed from a small town named Kaltan, scarcely populated with no more than five thousand souls," reminisces Nikita Rybkin, a student at the CME Content Academy. "Yet, the legal path didn't quite resonate with me; instead, I found solace in expressing my creativity whenever I could."

A fervent aficionado of television series and films, Nikita delved deep into the realm of storytelling, spending countless hours dissecting narratives and honing his own craft. Writing scripts and directing became more than mere pastimes—they became his passions. It was his belief that the Czech Republic held the potential to realize his dreams.

"I aspire to intertwine my life with scriptwriting and directing. Within the Czech Republic's bounds, I see the opportunity to spearhead a genuine cultural revolution, to ignite a new wave that captivates audiences worldwide," Nikita asserts. "Many of the essential ingredients for this endeavor are already in place."

In discussing a cultural renaissance, Nikita draws inspiration from the burgeoning Korean TV industry. "I'm referring to the remarkable surge happening in Korea right now—the phenomenon of Korean cinema. Just a short while ago, Korean TV series were scarcely known beyond Asian borders. Yet today, Korean culture enjoys a vibrant resurgence," Nikita explains.

He also finds inspiration in the Czech New Wave of the 1960s. "The Czechs once heralded an international cultural movement within the cinematic realm—the renowned 'Czech New Wave,' which still stands as a pinnacle of Czech cinema. Yet now, I perceive much of the cultural landscape mired in self-reflection," he adds thoughtfully.

Settling into Brno, Nikita embraces its moderate size—a step up from Písek where he honed his writing skills, yet not as bustling as Prague. "Brno suits me well," he reflects. "It offers a comfortable living environment that I truly appreciate."

At the CME Content Academy in Brno, Nikita values the enriching learning environment it offers. With a smaller student body, instructors and mentors can devote more personalized attention to each individual. Reflecting on his choice of settling in the Czech Republic, Nikita contemplates, "Why the Czech Republic? It's long been a favored destination for directors worldwide. With its rich history, captivating architecture, and a propensity for cinematic excellence, the country offers a fertile ground for creative endeavors. Unlike needing hefty investments in CGI, it already possesses the essence for crafting exceptional TV series and films. What's crucial isn't billions in funding, but rather a fresh perspective and daring experimentation. I believe in the potential."

"Nikita shares his dream of directing and/or writing his own series, reflecting on his aspirations. The Academy's distinctive environment resonates with his vision, offering the perfect platform for him to refine his skills and bring his creative dreams to fruition."
